To summarise: The best burger meal I have ever had. But it doesn't stop there my friend! The place itself is amazing, from artificial grass under the benches outside to waking up your inner child when you walk inside. The place is full of action figures, models, artwork and memories. But just like the burgers, there are even more impressive layers to Atomic Burger.

I was in Bristol for the night and to be honest, I don't know the city at all! I met up with a friend and we decided to go out for some food. He suggested trying the new Nandos, but I'm pretty sure a new Nandos will be the same as any other. In a city the size of Bristol, there has to be some hidden gems. My friend said everyone at his office is raving about Atomic Burger, but it's always really busy so we might not get in without a booking. We decided to risk it, so we jumped in his car, fired up Google maps and managed to find free parking just around the corner from the restaurant.
Sure enough, the restaurant was busy. We were met at the door by a member of staff. This led to the first good impression. We didn't have a booking, but rather than just turn us away he went to check what was possible and came back with good news! We managed to get a table and after seeing what the other customers were eating, my mouth was watering and I was happy!
At the same time - your mind is overloaded by the style of this place. The walls, counters and even the ceiling is covered in models, figurines, artwork and posters. You find yourself trying to name them all and spotting some true classics. Ranging from Captain Scarlet to Star Wars AT-AT walkers. The place is full of iconic film, video game, comic book and science fiction characters. It is simply fascinating and indeed a hidden gem.

Then there is the menu. I'm not even talking about the food yet. The menu is so creative I wanted to take one away with me. Each menu item is an iconic celebrity, video game character or hero! Ranging from Forest Gump, Johnny Cash to Mclovin and Spoc.
I went for the "Tony Montana" - burger topped with sliced ham, pulled pork, pickles, mayo and American mustard, served with a side order of choice. £9.45. Winner! And here it is....

The menu's artwork and creativity is just brilliant. Even down to the "Sci Fries" - which I would highly recommend. Double fried with a chilli rub!
Atomic burger sells nachos, wings, hot dogs, burgers, salads, milk shakes, soft drinks, beers, floats, hot drinks and even deserts if you have room! There are some clear vegetarian options and a lot of choice. It took me a while to study the menu and finally decide.

Even the music struck a chord with me, I remember hearing a few classics from my teenage years.
The staff were very friendly and happy to answer any questions. The only downside to the visit is that we ordered drinks and had to remind the waitress, as the order seemed to have been forgotten about.
Before too long, the food arrived. As you can see from the photo above, the burger is out of this world! I felt as though I was taking part in Man vs Food. The burger was delicious and simply one of the best burgers I have ever had. The Sci-Fries had a chilli kick to them and were great. We were provided with two different sauces as well and they were equally as tasty!
To add to the creativity the rewards scheme is a sticker book. There is also an Atomic Burger in Oxford as well as an Atomic Pizza restaurant.
Overall I am very impressed with Atomic Burger. It is tempting to plan a visit to Bristol, to not only return to Atomic Burger but to see what else the city has to offer. It's a shame Atomic Burger isn't in Sheffield!
Atomic Burger have blown the competition away!
